Madrid has three Christmas markets on the municipal register of street pitches, and between them they come to 144 stalls. Two are on the Plaza Mayor and the third is in Puente de Vallecas. Here are their dates, their stalls and what somebody setting one up pays, worked out from the tax ordinance.
Stalls and dates are the ones the municipal street-market file declares. The Mercado tradicional's dates are given as approximate by the file itself.
The Plaza Mayor has its own group in the tax ordinance, the 4th, and it does not charge by the day the way every other street market in Madrid does: it charges once for the whole authorised run.
It is €24.27 per square metre for the entire run. The tree module the street-pitch list specifies is 3 by 2 metres, that is 6 m², and it pays €145.62: not a separate rate, the same price per metre applied to the module.
For comparison, a 2 m² stall at El Rastro in the first band pays €271.20 a year, and any other street market in Madrid pays €0.24 per square metre per day. The three rates, worked out, are on what a stall costs.
There is a published window to apply for a stall at the Mercado tradicional de Navidad, and it is not on the market's own page: it is in the district's annual list of street pitches, in the municipal bulletin.
From 1 de agosto to 1 de noviembre, 2026. That is what the latest published list says. The pine and fir market carries no window of its own in that entry: the list describes it by its location and its 21 modules of 3 by 2 metres, and nothing else. The 41 documents, read one by one, are in objections.
